Introducing The SUNFLOW Tall Sand Dune Chair (And The Return Of Some Old Friends)

Beach culture is a uniquely American development, with the world’s first public beaches and resorts opening across the country at the turn of the 20th century. Generations of sunbathers, surfers, and snorkelers have since flocked to shores all over the globe, generating a need for more comfortable accommodations while on the sand.

Portable folding chairs were developed in the 1940s to provide extra seating on ship decks and were quickly repurposed into a beach seating staple. Outside of some minor material changes, however, little in the design has changed over the past 70 years.

In the deep, misty past of 2020, we introduced ourselves to the world with the original SUNFLOW Beach Chair. Since then, the world has evolved and changed, and our product line has followed suit.

Since the introduction of the first SUNFLOW beach chair, we’ve since released The High Tide Chair, which uses a telescoping frame to offset its larger size. The High Tide Chair offers plenty of extra shoreline luxury, including some extra height and a button-operated collapse and expansion system. 

The Shore Thing Chair, on the other hand, is a simplified and lightweight version of the OG SUNFLOW chair. The Shore Thing is our lightest chair, weighing 8 pounds, and gives you plenty of color options. You’ll have to act fast to snag your favorite - seashell white, sky blue stripe, and sunshine yellow stripe have only just been introduced after being sold out last year!

Now, to those of you who have asked, pleaded, and begged for some extra room between your derriere and the sun-baked sand, we introduce  The Tall Sand Dune. At 17 inches above the ground, it is our tallest option yet and provides plenty of legroom for the taller among us.
